In which our narrator arrives in Los Angeles, filled with hope and potential for a new life, and just a dash of bitterness toward San Francisco.
Wes says:
I had to do ‘em like this for the opening song. I have never felt swaggier than knowing I would end my San Francisco chapter (which included my only real full length, The Alphabelt, named after the alphabetical streets of the Sunset District, plus an oeuvre of songs and music videos that pay tribute to the foggy city), by kicking off my first record as an Angeleno with the bold (if a bit convoluted) proclamation: “Untouchable’s my whole world in LA!”
lyrics
Welcome to late night radio
This one’s for all you lovers out there
Echo echo location
Left your text on read and I’m vacant
What to say when I cannot fake it?
Angel’s Flight downtown and you’re waiting
It’s okay then
Untouchable’s my whole world in LA
Please don’t fuck with my merchandising
You cannot buy so don’t touch it or try me
Bitch I was barely alive
I put it all in the Bay and it wasted away
I was wasting my time, yeah I needed to fly
One look at your feed and I’m losing my need for discussion
How'd I ever think that we were something good?
I should have never responded
You were what I wanted but not what I need
Echo echo location
Left your text on read and I’m vacant
What to say when I cannot fake it?
Angel’s Flight downtown, and you’re waiting
It’s okay then
Off of your wave
I was misguided got burned by your flame
We lost our way
In the cold fog of the Bay
Echo echo location
Left your text on read and I’m vacant
What to say when I cannot fake it?
Angel’s Flight downtown, and you’re waiting
It’s okay then
I’m guess I’m a goner
Stay forever don’t tell my mother
They rocking out to my emerald aura
I see the signs* and it’s making me smile
Cause I’m on one
